Semi-Automatic Circular Knife Positioning System Type Module II for Pneumatic Crush Cut Knife Holders
Dienes' semi-automatic positioning system is ideally suited for production activities requiring several daily setups. It quickly and accurately locates the precise knife positions required for each cut pre-programmed into the computer. In addition to greatly reducing setup time, slit widths are more accurate and set-up errors are eliminated. Sensors to detect edges of web allow automatic edge trim cut settings. Mounted directly on your slitter or operated off-line, the positioning equipment is composed of a linear slide and a movable support containing the positioning arm and user-friendly operator unit with LED readout. Numerous setups can be pre-programmed into the stand-alone computer control unit.
The system operates in an automatic mode, where the positioning arm travels from position to position at various user-controlled time intervals. It can also be operated in a manual unlimited-time mode. Programming is performed with very little training, making the learning curve short and inexpensive. Program can be stored and recalled at a later date or stored on cartridges.
System Operation
Simple Operation - as the positioning arm stops at each pre-programmed location (slit width), operator places the holder against the magnet of the arm. The knife holder is locked in place using Dienes' patented Quick Clamp.
