The lubrication device with felt from DIENES <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For special applications, it has been proven in practice to continuously wet the top knife edges with a liquid in order to improve the cutting edge quality. This can be done with the help of felt. Knife lubrication is mainly used for cutting adhesive films and papers, metal foils, especially aluminum, copper and brass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The impregnation of the felt can be done in different ways. Either the felt is placed in a liquid bath until it is saturated and then inserted into the respective lubrication device or the lubrication felt located in the holder is moistened at regular intervals \/ continuously. If the wetting is too low, the so-called built-up edge occurs when cutting metal foils and particles adhere to the knife edges in the case of labels, label stock, etc.. This can reduce the quality of the cut edges and even lead to rejects. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To ensure continuous wetting of the knife edges, it is possible to automate this process. In this case, the exact amount of liquid is fed to the knife from an oil reservoir as required and takes care of the continuous wetting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the additional lubrication felt function from DIENES, it is ensured that the felt can follow the axial knife movement. Constant contact with the knife edge is achieved by means of an adjusting screw. The lubrication device can be swung out for easy knife replacement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
