With his technical expertise, inventive spirit, and entrepreneurial foresight, Rudolf Supe-Dienes has significantly shaped the development of the DIENES Group. Together with his brother, Bernd Supe-Dienes (†2021), he transformed the family business into an internationally leading provider of industrial slitting and valve technology – always driven by a commitment to quality, precision, and innovation.
Rudolf Supe-Dienes began his professional career at DIENES at the age of 16, completing vocational training as a toolmaker. Early on, he worked alongside his father and took on responsibility within the family business. Later, he managed DIENES together with his brother Bernd Supe-Dienes – a strong duo that led the company with courage, determination, and foresight.
Together, they expanded the product portfolio, opened up international markets, and continuously developed DIENES – always with the goal of passing the family business on to the next generation in the long term.
The transition to the fourth generation was planned early and implemented with foresight.
In 2021, the son of Rudolf Supe-Dienes, Julian Supe-Dienes, joined the company as Head of Sales and was appointed to the management board of the DIENES Group in 2023. His sister, Maja Supe-Dienes, also started in 2023 as Project Manager in Corporate Development and is now part of the management of Messerfabrik Neuenkamp GmbH, a sister company specializing in the production of high-precision tools.
Together with their father – and initially with their uncle Bernd – Julian and Maja have set the course for the company’s future in recent years. Both are following in great footsteps, continuing the family’s values of innovation, quality, teamwork, and a strong sense of family.
The fourth generation is ready to continue the success story. With a strong international team, modern production sites, and a clear focus on future-oriented topics such as digitalization and sustainability, the new generation is leading DIENES forward with fresh thinking and a deep awareness of tradition.
Rudolf Supe-Dienes will remain closely connected to the company – as a consultant, mentor, and inspiring personality, continuing to share his knowledge and experience.
The entire DIENES team would like to thank Rudolf Supe-Dienes for his exceptional lifetime achievements, dedication, and passion for precision and technology. Under his leadership, DIENES has been decisively shaped and a strong foundation has been laid for the future.
We wish Rudolf Supe-Dienes all the best for the time ahead and many wonderful moments beyond professional life.
About the company
The DIENES Group is a market-leading provider of knives, knife holders, and slitting systems for industrial applications, with a history spanning 112 years. Today, DIENES employs around 500 people across 9 locations. Around 100 national and international patents continue to set global standards in slitting across various industries. The company is regularly listed in the “Encyclopedia of Global Market Leaders” (Lexikon der Weltmarktführer) and recognized by the F.A.Z. Institute as “Germany’s Innovation Leader”.
DIENES’ product range includes pneumatically and electrically driven knife holders, the DIENES CSL technology for optimizing cutting force, DIENES Easy Set for safe and easy knife positioning, DIENES Depth Control for precise depth adjustment, and the fully automatic simultaneous positioning system DIENES SIMU-FLASH. DIENES knives and knife holders are used to cut, score, or perforate a wide variety of materials such as plastics, packaging, labels, adhesive tape, battery foil, nonwovens, cellulose, paper, banknotes, security strips, diaper closures, aluminium, carbon materials, and more. These products are employed in both roll-to-roll and roll-to-sheet processes.
The subsidiary, Messerfabrik Neuenkamp, complements the portfolio with high-precision tools for slitting and trimming lines for the processing of steel, metals, and non-ferrous materials. Special knife materials combined with purpose-designed rubber ejector rings and spacer ring sets guarantee perfect cut quality, which is essential today in the automotive, aerospace, machinery, and electrical industries. Its roll shear cutting systems are known for tolerances of up to ±0.001 mm, with special requirements achievable to ±0.0005 mm.
This year, Messerfabrik Neuenkamp celebrates its 100th anniversary and is reorganizing its management team for the future. Together with Rüdiger Uhlitz, who has been with Neuenkamp for 30 years – 22 of them in management – and Maja Supe-Dienes, Martin Geveke will actively shape the future of the company as Technical Director. His predecessor, Sebastian Dörmbach, has left the company and is no longer part of the management team.
